This animated series is about two kittens, 7 year old Hongbi and her 5 year old brother, Hongshi. The series follows their adventures which include the kittens and their friends, Wooli, Ruis, Boo, Cookie, Mimi and Ed. Learning the importance of practice and patience, being kind to others, performing in a school play when one has hiccups and dealing with jealousy about a new baby are among the story themes of the show. Based in part on characters from the children's book by Baek Hee Na.

Family life for the Boswells centres around their God-fearing Catholic mother, Nellie. With her husband having left her for "a tart", she relies upon her eldest son, Joey, to play the father's role to her other three sons, Jack, Adrian and Billy, and her daughter Aveline. Their ability to squeeze the DHSS dry, while the boys earn a living on the side, is legendary. But, although the family is the focus of their lives, they each have different reasons to be unhappy!

On their way home from the Isle of Wight Pop Festival, Jeff, Trev and Mick along with girlfriends Marty and Cathy decide to pitch a tent on private land. In the morning the land's owner Rafe turns up and orders them to get off his lawn but changes his mind when one of the girls emerges naked from the tent. Rafe explains he only comes down to the house at weekends and lets them stay providing they redecorate his house. The squatters agree but once Rafe leaves they plot to organize a pop festival at the house. Attempting to raise cash for the venture, the men coerce their girlfriends into making a blue movie. When this proves disastrous Jeff goes to London and poses as a pop journalist in order to book the groups "Crazy Mabel" and "The Juicy Lucy" for the festival.

This story took place in a village during the war. A horse left by the passing troops rescued all the locals, because it could be used to grind grain and it and to do hard work. Even though it was injured, it helped people by all means. But one boy acted badly, offending the horse and destroying the established order. Will he be able to return everything and be forgiven?

Based upon the life of activist and trade unionist (and later MP) Sonja Davies. The film covers her life up to 1956, when, at age 33, she was elected to the Nelson Hospital Board. During this period she develops strong socialist beliefs, marries and divorces, at age 17 trains as a nurse, has a romance (and a child) with an American marine who is killed in WWII action. She battles tuberculosis and marries a former boyfriend when he returns from the war. She becomes part of a women's ill-fated campaign to save the Nelson railway line from closure and begins to be elected to political bodies.

About the lowest class in society, female industrial workers. The film tells of one such person and her struggle for struggle for survival.
